Consultation with Ear Care Lincs

These are just a few of many questions that an Ear Care Lincs Consultation can provide the answers to.
What Can I Expect?
During your consultation, we will thoroughly discuss any symptoms or issues you have been experiencing. We will conduct an examination of both ears using an otoscope, inform you of any and all findings, and provide you with advice on potential remedial action.
If Microsuction is required post-consultation due to the identification of a wax build-up, this may be conducted on the day of the appointment. We may rebook for a later date. depending on the case and your wider commitments.
How You Can Prepare For Your Appointment
-If you are under 18, ensure you have a legal parent or guardian in attendance for the duration of the appointment.
-You will be required to answer a number of questions regarding your hearing-related symptoms and wider health.
-Please ensure you have made 45 minutes available around your appointment regardless of the procedure necessary. While all appointments should take 30 minutes, this helps to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, free from external commitments.
Olive Oil
-If you are aware of a wax blockage and have booked a removal procedure, it is highly beneficial to instill of olive oil or Earol spray into the ear canal, before bedtime, in the days prior to your appointment.
3 drops, 3 times a day, for 3 days.
The properties of olive oil soften the earwax and make extraction quicker, easier, and more comfortable - avoiding the need for a potential secondary appointment.
Note: DO NOT use olive oil if you are aware of or suspect an eardrum perforation (tear or hole in the eardrum)
